Why was my claim declined?

We understand that receiving a negative outcome on a dispute is frustrating.

Updated this week

We want to be transparent about how this decision was reached.

What happened?

When you disputed this transaction, we immediately forwarded your claim to the card network (e.g., Visa or Mastercard).

In this specific case, the merchant challenged the dispute.

Why was the decision made against me?

The card network reviewed the evidence provided by the merchant and ruled in their favor.

Common reasons for this decision include:

  • Proof of Service: The merchant submitted tracking numbers, delivery photos, or logs showing the service was used

  • Verification Match: The merchant proved that the person who made the purchase used verified credentials (like a PIN, 3D Secure password, or FaceID) that match your account

  • Terms of Service: The merchant showed that the transaction adhered to a cancellation or refund policy that you agreed to at checkout

Who made the final decision?
This decision is made by the Card Brand based on strict banking regulations.
DolarApp does not have the authority to override the Card Brand’s final verdict.

What happens next?
This decision is generally final and cannot be appealed through the app.

If you still believe this is an error, we recommend contacting the merchant directly to resolve the issue outside of the banking dispute network.
