What your risk profile means

Learn how we define your profile and what it's for

Updated over a week ago

DolarApp identifies your risk profile to help you define your investment strategy, but it doesn’t limit what you can do. It’s important to note that you can always invest in whatever you choose, regardless of your profile.

Your risk profile reflects your tolerance to risk, your financial knowledge, and your investment goals. Based on this, we can recommend strategies aligned with your objectives and your comfort level with market fluctuations. There are three main profiles: conservative, moderate, and aggressive.

How we determine your profile

Your profile is defined based on a questionnaire that considers the following factors:

  • Level of financial experience

  • Investment time horizon

  • Financial goals

  • Reactions to loss scenarios

Types of risk profiles

Conservative
This profile is associated with people who prioritize security over growth. They prefer to keep their capital protected, even if that means lower returns. They usually feel more comfortable with low-risk instruments such as government bonds, fixed income funds, or certificates of deposit. This profile is common among those with short-term goals or a low tolerance for volatility.

Moderate
A moderate profile seeks a balance between stability and growth. Investors with this profile are willing to accept some degree of fluctuation in their investments if it helps them achieve better returns in the medium or long term. They often opt for a combination of stable stocks and bonds and tend to have a broader investment horizon.

Aggressive
The aggressive profile corresponds to individuals with high tolerance for volatility and long-term growth goals. They are willing to face short-term losses if there’s potential for greater returns in the future. These investors usually lean toward assets like stocks, growth funds, cryptocurrencies, or other high-risk instruments.

Adjusting your risk profile

Your risk profile is not permanent. It can change over time as your goals or personal situation evolve. At DolarApp, we automatically review your profile every two years to ensure it remains aligned with your needs.

If you want to change it sooner or need help, contact us via the support chat in the app or by email at help@dolarapp.com.
