A Pix Key is a personal identifier used to send and receive money via the Pix system. You can create multiple keys for individual and corporate accounts.
The available key types are:
CPF/CNPJ (Brazilian tax ID numbers)
Cell phone number
Email address
Random key (a sequence of numbers and letters generated by the Central Bank)
How to Create a Pix Key
To create a Pix Key, follow these steps:
Open the app and go to the "Receive" tab.
Click on "Add new key".
Select the key type you want to use (Random, Cell phone number, CPF, or Email).
For each key type:
Random Key: Automatically generated and added to your account.
Cell phone number:
Enter your phone number.
Request a verification code (sent via SMS).
Enter the code in the app.
Email Key:
Enter your email address.
Request a verification code (sent to your email).
Enter the code in the app.
CPF Key: The CPF field will be auto-filled and the key will be added automatically.
What is Pix Key Portability?
Portability means transferring a Pix Key from one bank or financial institution to another.
If you want to transfer your Pix Key to DolarApp, follow these steps:
When you check your Pix Key, if it’s already linked to another bank, you’ll see a warning saying the key is in use.
You’ll be given an option to request Key Portability to DolarApp.
Click "Done" to initiate the portability request.
Go to your other bank’s app and confirm the portability.
Once DolarApp receives the transfer request, you’ll get a notification to approve the transfer.
Open DolarApp, click on the key you want to transfer, and click "Transfer my Pix Key".
Complete the process with facial recognition to finalize the transfer.
What is Pix Key Claim?
Claiming is when you request a Pix Key (such as a phone number or email) that is already in use by someone else.
If your key is already in use, follow these steps to claim it:
When checking your Pix Key in DolarApp, you may see a message that it’s already in use by someone else.
Click the "Claim key" button.
Select the key you want to claim.
You will see a message saying: "Your claim is being verified."
The current owner has up to 7 days to accept or decline the claim request.
Click "Done" after submitting the claim.
If your claim is confirmed, you can create the key as usual.
